Story Behind Us
The story behind MAKE A MOVE.
Tell the world:
There is no one cause of poverty, and the results of it are different in every case. Poverty varies considerably depending on the situation.
Despite the many definitions, one thing is certain; poverty is a complex societal issue. No matter how poverty is defined, it can be agreed that it is an issue that requires everyone’s attention. It is important that all members of our society work together to provide the opportunities for all our members to reach their full potential. It helps all of us to help one another.
JOHN JACOB SINGCO, 19, SANTANDER
In my years of of living, hardships and struggles are considered to be inevitable. I have seen the weeping faces of the street children, the sacrifices of their parents' well-being, and the pain that can be seen through their eyes.
" In a country well governed, poverty is something to be ashamed of. In a country badly governed, wealth is something to be ashamed of." -Confucius
CARL JUSTINE CASAGNAP, 19, TOLEDO CITY
I came from a middle class family, though we can afford things that we want, necessities are still the top priority. Living life in such inconvenience made things more complicated in such a way that can't be explained by words only. Expressing what we feel gets us invalidated.
“We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.” — Mother Teresa
“As long as poverty, injustice and gross inequality exist in our world, none of us can truly rest.”
What we need is for the society to act as one, helping each other that are in need and in pain, no matter what their race, gender, because when a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her. It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed.
